Massachusetts

While the eastern portion of Massachusetts is primarily urban and dense in population, especially in Boston, this New England state is well known for it’s vast rural areas in the West. The small mountain range known as the Berkshires is located in the western part of the state. In the East, the vast majority of people living in the Boston metropolitan area do not reside in the city proper but rather the surrounding areas. Even with this being the case, the Boston area is a notoriously difficult area into which to ship automobiles. Many streets in the metropolitan Boston area are protected and weight restricted, due to it’s historical significance. Especially if a vehicle is shipped to the downtown Boston area, door to door shipping may not be possible.

The climate of Massachusetts is relatively mild during most of the year but the winters can get quite harsh at times. Precipitation is primarily heavier in the eastern portion of the state due to it’s close proximity to the ocean. If an automobile is being shipped from the West, the primary highway used to reach metropolitan Boston is Interstate 90, which also runs through another major Massachusetts city, Springfield.
