North Carolina is a southeastern state that is typically described as having a humid subtropical climate. There are a wide variety of elevation changes in the state, however, which regularly change the temperature expectations depending on where an auto shipper is traveling. Well already relatively densely populated, North Carolina was listed as being the 4th fastest growing state in the country which, in turn, is expected to trigger a growth of urban and metropolitan areas. This will likely cause a traffic increase on many of the major highways. So, although traffic is not normally so heavy as to cause significant delays in auto shipping, this could become a problem in the near future.

Winters are very mild in North Carolina, especially along the Atlantic coastline. Temperatures very rarely fall below freezing and the coast of North Carolina receives about an average of 1 inch of snow each year. However, the major concern for auto shippers in the summer is the heat and humidity, which can be hard on rare or expensive cards if an enclosed hauler is not used. Finally, hurricanes are a concern for auto shippers traveling through North Carolina as this state is third in the country when hurricane frequency is concerned.
